Abbey Bookbinding Company was formed in 1976 in Cardiff, by Roger and Pam Cottrell, both being time served indentured apprentices in bookbinding. Initially the company were involved in general bookbinding to local firms. But gradually the call for thesis binding for Universities and colleges in Cardiff grew and the company decided to specialise mainly in this work. We only use the best materials such as Harmatan leathers, Buckram and Rexine and this has stood us in good stead with our customers, which include universities, colleges, schools, county councils, the Welsh Assembly, legal and medical practices, hospitals etc.
