Business Description
Founded in 1998 by Sharron Rush and Steve Guengerich, Knowbility is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that grew form the community collaboration that produced the first AIR-Austin. Our mission is to put the power of accessible technology to work in support of the independence of people with disabilities. We envision a world of barrier - free IT. in which children, youth and adults with disabilities have greater options to learn, work, and fully participate as producers and consumers in the information marketplace. The growth of the Internet during the 1990s and into the beginning of this century has opened tremendous new possibilities for everyone to participate in society and to collaborate as never before. Technology levels the playing field for people with disabilities. It also has the potential to help everyone become more productive and more connected to one another than ever before.
